Liberty Development Foundation was started in 2004, and is located in Kasese District, Western Uganda and registered with Kasese District Development Network (KADDE-NET) as a community based and non-profit making organisation, looking forward to, “A multi-skilled society with competences to stir up development at individual and household level”.
The organisation has been offering self-reliance skills to the youth and women amidst great challenges. For the last three years, the trainings have attracted 1,250 people (450 youth & 550 women & 250 men). All these are either self employed or have been employed by the local government and civil society. The organisation is also currently supporting women and youth groups which are running micro project initiatives at a small scale and participating in HIV prevention campaigns. Recently 25 households have been sampled to become models for learning micro project initiatives
