ChipIn Alternative
- can be embedded on our rescue's website
- can chart and track online contributions through PayPal
- you can add a photo or video to
- has the ability to add offline donations (ideally)
I used to be able to use the ChipIn through Facebook as that had everything including the ability to add offline contributions. However, as of sometimes around September 2008, it stopped tracking any donations and I would have to enter everything manually. I have contacted their support numerous times and have not received a response. Perhaps they no longer support ChipIn? I don't know.
If you use their main website to create a ChipIn (rather than going through Facebook) you do not have the ability to add offline contributions. I end up having to just deduct the amount from the total (which contributors are not happy with since they like to see their donations get added to the pot).
If anyone has any ideas for a ChipIn alternative, it would be most helpful. I found found these donation charts incredibly helpful to our fund raising efforts and would like to be able to use them again.

I used to use chipin about a year ago, but just like you said, the customer service just stopped. It's weird that they would stop managing such a useful tool.
Anyway, I dont know of any alternatives that do all those functions, but I'll let you know if I find something like that.

The issue is thepoint requires users to register with them, also it limits to credit card (no paypal and only users from US, Canada, and the UK). It's pretty cool otherwise, http://thepoint.com

I would say doing something like paypal would be the best solution. Our group often has to raise funds for a trips. We have to collect money for Hotels in Augusta GA as well as Medical Travel Insurance.
The other solution would be to do something where you get your own merchant account. This may be too costly though.

I hate it when widgets or other online elements lose their functionality! Looks like you had a good thing going, hopefully they've updated their stuff and its working again. If not, you may consider creating a web page on your site where you can update the info, may not be as easy but you could probably find a pretty good solution that would work well.
